About
Finding Home, One Playground at a Time
When we first moved to Devonport in February 2026, we genuinely didn't expect much in the way of playgrounds. Back in Korea, we used to live somewhere where great parks were basically right on our doorstep, so I didn’t expect to find that kind of convenience anywhere else. I was very wrong.

Devonport surprised me straight away. Playgrounds around every corner, and the ones by the waterfront especially — gorgeous views, well looked-after, and the kids were smitten from day one. It started with an offhand question one afternoon: "How many playgrounds are actually around here?" That was enough. We started exploring, and we basically haven't stopped since — a new playground almost every day. This site is the record of all that, which is why you might occasionally notice a couple of little silhouettes in the photos. 😄
As we went, I started keeping track of the things I always wanted to know before arriving somewhere — parking, toilets, water fountains, how much shade there is, and (non-negotiable as far as my daughter is concerned) whether there's a monkey bar. So each playground listing has as much of that practical detail as I could gather. Less of a map, more of a field guide.
We're still exploring, and the list gets a fresh update most weeks. If you're not sure where to begin, these four would be my first recommendations:
- Devonport Playground

- Northboro Reserve Playground

- Montgomery Reserve Playground

- Kennedy Park Playground

Most of the information here comes from our own visits, with the occasional tip from friends in the area, a bit of Googling, or a conversation with someone at the swings. If you know of a spot I've missed, or just want to get in touch, I'd love to hear from you.
