Why we like it

If you're looking for a quiet, unhurried afternoon with the kids, Stafford Park Playground might just be the spot. Tucked inside the sprawling Stafford Park, the playground sits on a generous stretch of greenery that immediately makes you want to just... breathe out.

Room to move

The park itself is impressively large. There's so much open lawn that kids can run in every direction without bumping into anything, and cycling around the paths is genuinely enjoyable. It's the kind of place where you don't feel rushed, and there's enough space for everyone to do their own thing.

The monkey bars

The playground has a circular monkey bar setup that's a standout feature — it looks fun and it is, but it's on the larger side. Kids under around 120 cm will likely struggle to reach comfortably, so it's more of a big-kid (or adult?) kind of challenge. There's also a picnic table right next to the play area, which is a thoughtful touch for families wanting to set up a little snack station nearby.

Before you go

One thing worth knowing before you go: there are no toilets and no water fountain here. A bit of a shame, but easy enough to plan around if you know ahead of time. Also, when we visited, there was a notice at the park entrance (as of April 2026) saying the grounds aren't being actively managed — but honestly, we couldn't tell. The grass was neat, the playground was tidy, and there were kids coming and going the whole time we were there. It felt well looked after.

Bottom line

Overall, Stafford Park Playground is a peaceful, genuinely pleasant outing. Not flashy, not crowded — just a big, green, easy afternoon. Exactly what you sometimes need.
